Documentation

Official documentation is at documentation.libreoffice.org. It includes guides for each application (Writer Guide, Calc Guide, etc.) in multiple languages. Community support is available at ask.libreoffice.org.

How to Install & Use

  1. Download the installer from libreoffice.org/download.
  2. Run the installer and follow the prompts — default settings are recommended.
  3. Launch LibreOffice and select the application you need (Writer, Calc, etc.).
  4. To open Microsoft Office files, simply drag them onto the LibreOffice window.
  5. Set LibreOffice as the default app for .docx/.xlsx/.pptx in your OS settings if preferred.

Limitations & Notes

  • Complex Microsoft Office files with advanced macros may not render perfectly.
  • Some advanced Excel formulas and pivot table features behave differently in Calc.
  • The user interface is less polished than Microsoft Office 365.
